Treatment Protocol
Sports Massage
Bodywork Therapy is an athlete’s ultimate training tool. Sports Massage increases the blood flow and in turn flushes out lactic acid and other toxins. Squeezing the old blood out of the muscle brings in nutrient rich blood and aids in the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscle by increasing the diameter and permeability of capillaries. The increase of blood flow will decrease pain in the overloaded muscle and also help to increase mineral retention. By increasing muscle pliability and flexibility, muscle tension decreases from stress overload. Sports Massage prepares the muscle to function at its peak mechanical efficiency to achieve total movement.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Sportfit Therapy incorporates Neuromuscular Therapy as its foundation for the evaluation and treatment of clients. This involves evaluation as well as working the muscle from it’s origin to insertion in order to obtain optimal release of the muscle and to create structural homeostasis between the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system.
Cranio Sacral Therapy
The craniosacral system is responsible for the complete wellness of your whole body. Sportfit Therapy treatment completes its protocol by utilizing this non-invasive technique used to detect and treat cranial base dysfunction as well as sacral dysfunction due to injury/trauma/biomechanical dysfunction.
Hydrotherapy
Ice – Ice – Ice it is a miracle drug. Always use it immediately and up to 48 hours after acute trauma - then use moist heat to affected area. Here at Sportfit Therapy we use ice and moist heat as part of the muscular healing process.
